"The Way of the SEAL Summary"

Each of us is special and unique.

But it is not our appearance that differentiates us, but our sense of self, of who we are.

Inside our souls, each of us bears fixed points that define us and give our lives meaning.

So, how do you find these unique, unchangeable points?

First, decide where are your limits and what things you cannot agree to compromise on.

Knowing your values can help you build a life that is meaningful to you.

Next, you have to find your purpose.

Your purpose tells you what you want to accomplish in your life. Knowing your direction can help you determine steps that will make you stronger when you face troubles along the way.

Furthermore, you need to focus on one goal at a time. Stop yourself from multitasking, and learn to be patient.

This will not always come naturally to you. In fact, most times you will have to make yourself focus.

To do this, you have to have full control of your mind.

Along your way, you will face many uncertainties. You will continuously doubt your ability to succeed and will feel fear in your bones.

However, you must not become a victim of such thoughts.

Confront your fears and work on your weaknesses. Get out of your comfort zone, take risks, and build a strong character.

To overcome your weaknesses, you have to cultivate drive, discipline, and determination.

What does this mean?

The drive is the motivation that makes you develop a habit.

Discipline is what will ultimately create a habit.

A determination is your commitment to your purpose.

You should also try to develop mental toughness, by taking control of your mind and your emotions.

Change your negative thoughts with positive ones.

Imagine there are two dogs inside your mind: a fear dog and a courage dog.

Feed the right dog.

Key Lessons from “The Way of the SEAL”

1. Ways to Gain Access to Your Subconscious 2. Assessing a Target Value 3. Be Aware of Your Language

Ways to Gain Access to Your Subconscious

Focused awareness: focus on something particular and fully engaging your mind to process a certain type of information

Relaxed awareness: lack of focus on particularities, and creating a bigger image of your surroundings.

Assessing a Target Value

  • Fit
  • Importance
  • Timing
  • Simplicity

Be Aware of Your Language

The language you use is essential. Words like can’t, maybe, good, failed et cetera produce images of doubt and uncertainty in your brain.

So, substitute these words with: definitely, do, great, will et cetera.

A simple change of your language will create a stronger and more decisive mindset that will take you further.
